What is tallow?

Tallow is beef fat.

Tallow is full of vitamins and nutrients and minerals. It contains vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12, which are beneficial to skin repair and health, giving it a youthful and toned appearance. Tallow provides fats and proteins that are essential for our skin to repair itself and lock in moisture. These properties just can’t be found in chemically derived lotions. Tallow is very similar to the biology of our own skin, allowing it to conform and easily absorb, therefore providing an incredible opportunity for healing.

Our tallow comes from locally sourced 100% Natural pasture-raised, grass-fed and grass-finished cows. There are no parabens, preservatives, perfumes, dyes or chemicals in our products. It is silky smooth and absorbs quickly without leaving you feeling greasy. We whip our tallow in order to produce a fluffy, luscious & creamy skincare experience for our customers.

About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Marilyn, and I am the founder of McCollum Tallow Co. Myself, along with my family live on a beautiful hobby farm in northern MN. We raise red angus beef cows and enjoy everything about the country way of life.

A couple of years ago (2020, go figure!) I slowly began to eliminate the abundance of chemicals in our lives, one step at a time. I switched out shampoos, toothpaste and the like, for healthier options, but I couldn't find a lotion that felt up to my standards. I mean, we put it all over our bodies, and with skin being our largest organ, I knew this was a big one that had to go. Pair this quest with cattle butchering season on the farm, and there you have it! It was like an epiphany! The thought of tallow as a moisturizer entered my mind and I couldn't let it go- I knew this was it!

I began collecting the fat, researching as much info as I could, and have since created the most healing, healthy, lusciously creamy whipped tallow available.
